(Alright. :D Here goes nothing...)

Bullet could see his breath already. Although he wasn't shivering like most of his kin would have, he could feel the cold creeping through the cracks of the truck's back doors. Sitting peacefully in the back seat, he examined the blanket of white that fell across the open landscapes. He had been sure that this was the warm season, but here... it looked like the seasons had changed in a matter of hours. His mother had once told him of a land that was always shrouded in its winter coat, but he had always believed it was a myth. Quite a change from his old home in the wastelands...

Then again, it was quite a change from his old life entirely.

Just a year previously, the wolfdog had been in a pack - a strong one - and had even been a commander of his own group of soldiers. That had all changed so quickly, once the alpha had taken notice of him. He and his brother, Snare, were separated and attacked... Bullet had escaped, but he had no idea if his brother had been so fortunate. Beaten and bleeding, he had passed out somewhere in the forest... and was saved...

... by a group of humans.

Since then, he had vowed to protect them. And now, since his old saviors were long since past, he would have a new one - the principle would not change. He would protect them to his last breath. He sighed, ice blue eyes brightening as another truck came into view... and other wolves? Maybe... it looked like some of them might be dogs... or like him, the bastard pups of both species. In any case, it looked like they would be his new companions... He wuffed slightly - a memento of his dog origins.

"Heh, hey there, boy. It's alright."

Bullet didn't bother to look at the driver. He was but temporary - not his problem, just transportation. Instead, he kept his eye on everyone as the driver pulled up next to the truck that had already arrived. When the rumble of the engine ceased, the wolfdog stood up, anticipating the removal of his boundaries. As expected, the human driver exited the truck and opened the door to the back seat, letting Bullet jump to the ground.

The snow was old news to him. There had been plenty of snow back home - he had become accustomed to it once a year. So, he had no problem walking about, taking in his new surroundings, ignoring the others for now. The driver, confident that his charge would not run off, waited for the new owner to come over after he was finished talking to the other man with a second dog.

Bullet, meanwhile, was busy sniffing away at the air. Quite crisp - not as dusty as what he was used to. Lazilly he turned his eyes to the other canines. A diverse group, to be sure. And the newest arrival - besides himself, seemed to be female. He sighed again. Females. He knew that they weren't inferior, as he had been taught, but he still found them to be... annoying. He stared at her for a while longer, then returned his nose to the snow and thus his eyes away from her. He would introduce himself when he was sure of who he would be protecting - no sooner and no later.

(Feel free to take control of Mr. Driver and pet Bullet - note, though: the Humans call him Bracken.)

Joshua, althought young as he was, had seen John's reactions. He understood that he'd need to work a bit harder with John, to get his trust, and to gain his utmost loyalty. Patting John on the head as he had gotten himself into the harness, he was about to go back to Chikara to get her set up when suddenly, a truck had come up, pulling while the man inside called for him. Ah! One of his new arrivals! Just what he had expected. Giving a wave in response, he headed on over to the driver and the dog that was inside.

As he had approached, Joshua signed the papers before looking into the cage to see a young, bright husky! "She's beautiful." he smiled with a small whistle, before reaching his hand inside the cage to give her a good pat on the head. He could see that was full of energy, quite like Chikara was at the moment. They sure would become good sled mates, he was sure of that. "Welcome to the family." he chuckled as he then watched the man open the cage and hand Joshua the leash.

But just as Joshua was about to take the leash, and Yuxi out, there was yet again, another truck that had pulled up! Joshua, surprised, said, "Please would you keep hold of her for a moment?" Before approaching the truck that had just come.

"We got your order from a while back, somethin' about spare dog Mister..."

"Joshua." Josh said with a nod. He had actually forgotten about this order. Perhaps it was because it had been 'one of those orders' that you never knew when it was going to come, considering that the company that currently shipped Bullet off had never been timely. As he signed the papers, he looked to Bullet before coming over. Giving Bullet a nice pat on the head, he looked to the truck driver. "What's his name?"

"Bracken, sir." the driver responded, already getting into his truck to return from whence he came. Smiling, Joshua looked down to the wolfdog before taking him along. He then came back for Yuxi, getting the name before watching both trucks take off into the white distance. Grinning, Joshua brought forth the two new recruits in front of the sled team.

"All right troops!" Joshua called as he was forward. "Meet your new teammates, Yuxi and Bracken!" he introduced them. Harmony had already raised an ear. Oh, more dogs to add? One of them looked like he was a hybrid just like herself and Chikara, while the other a pure bredded husky. Her tail wagged at the newcomers in friendly greeting.

"Now, since your other teammates are currently out, these will be your new companions." he smiled. He looked from both Yuxi and then to Bullet. Deciding where to place them, Joshua had put Bullet as lead dog, while Yuxi served as Wheel dog next to John. "All right! Here is your new leader. Trust him, all right? We'll do fine!" he smiled. Finally he had come over to Chikara, and put on her harness before heading to the back of his sled. "All right, take a moment to meet and greet. In a few minutes we're going to head on out!" he called.

John watch pasently and carfuly as the new comers were brought over to the group. he was intrested in the new comer and so were the others. the first a female, white with to diffrent colour eyes looked nerves, as she was brought over to them. wile the other was even more intresting. nasty scars covered his body like johns own. but his looked more intense like they should of taken his life. a sign of that maybe this husky has some strenght to him, would he have it in mind ?? maybe. john never asumed any thing and would let time tell.
give him the benifit of the dout.

Chick was making a spetickal of her self, guess that came with being young and new to the sleding game, if she had been male maybe john would have been more annoyed but so fair he like her, but the yanks on the line were starting to grow thin. Harmony was inpressing john already trying to help carm chick and containg her self a lot better. but still these were only small thing and he had yet to see them and they had yet to see him.

As the new members were put into there places join turn smiling his small warm smile across his maw.
"You ok", he said in his deep bass voice.

The human had gone around to the back of the sled so introdions would have to be bref as fianly they were going to get going.

Luxie pawed the cage as it was heaved over to the other dogs and set in the snow, quivering with excitement.

“Easy, girl. You’ll be able to play with the other dogs in a minute,” the man said, unlocking and opening the cage door. Luxie scampered out, raising her head too fast and butting it against the top. Flattening her ears with embarassment, her multicolored eyes flickered up to the man as he raised an indifferent eyebrow, then back again as one of the dogs— an older male— introduced himself.

“H-hi,” she stammered, keeping her tail from wagging and trying to look as calm as possible. “Nice to meet you, John. I’m Luxie.” She tilted her head and smiled, and noticed who else John was looking at. Another dog, a lot larger than any dog Luxie’d ever seen, stood quietly to the side, nose turned away. Luxie blinked, contemplating whether or not to say something, and then turned away. I guess he’ll talk if he feels like talking.

“So,” she continued, fixing her attention back on John, “I see you’re getting ready to race? I h-hope I’m not going to be a nuisance, coming in right now,” she added quickly. Way to come in at a bad time! Is that why the big one is already acting so reserved?…

“All righty.” The cage was lifted away from Luxie’s hind legs, and the human closed it. “Already told your new owner your name. He’ll take good care of you,” he said with a blank expression. Worries immediately forgotten, Luxie yipped, watching as he walked away and stepped into his truck, and then looked around at the other dogs on the team. They all looked nice enough…especially the beige female that had just been harnessed. What was her name…? Ah, well, she’d find out soon enough.

Chikara, at first, was so excited with the prospect of racing, that she returned to pawing the ground, without paying more attention to the newcomer. Meeting a new female was fun... but she wanted to RUN now!

Her tail was curled up as she let out a few impatient yips, but she no longer tugged the line. Joshua and Harmony had told her to calm down... so she would. But it was so hard!!

What was taking the human?! Why didn't they go??

In her excitement, she hadn't even noticed that the team wasn't complete just yet. But then, she remembered. Caleb and Anik weren't here... so the new girl would take a place...

She finally turned her head to look at the new husky again, but suddenly perked her ears.

Hey... TWO dogs??!!

In her excitement, she hadn't noticed that another dog, a male this time, had arrived.
He was sniffing around, without paying much attention to them. Chikara let out a soft bark, hoping to draw some attention.
Grinning, Joshua brought forth the two new recruits in front of the sled team.

"All right troops!" Joshua called as he was forward. "Meet your new teammates, Luxie and Bracken!" he introduced them. Harmony had already raised an ear.

Chikara's tail began to wag like mad. Oh boy, two new dogs!! But introductions would have to wait. It was RUNNING TIME...

She hoped she'd be able to follow a leaddog she hadn't met yet. It probably wouldn't be easy, especially since she had never ran in a team before...

Finally he had come over to Chikara, and put on her harness before heading to the back of his sled. "All right, take a moment to meet and greet. In a few minutes we're going to head on out!" he called.
Chikara barked with joy, but behaved and didn't squirm as she was strapped into her harness. So... meetings first? That wás a good idea! My, this man was almost dog-like... he seemed to understand what a canine really needed! They would run better if they at least got a short hello...

As John already introduced himself to the new female, Chikara's attention was suddenly drawn to the dog in front of her... The male.

She tilted her head a little; standing right behind him, she could easily pick up his scent. But he smelled... different.
She wondered why. She had met many males in her life, and they all had the special scent that only male hormones seemed to cause. But this guy... lacked it.

Without thinking, she stretched her neck a little to sniff near his backlegs, as casual as she could.

She silently wondered what was up with him....

Suddenly, her head raised again as she heard the female speak.
“I see you’re getting ready to race? I h-hope I’m not going to be a nuisance, coming in right now”

Chikara's tail began to wag again. ''Oh no, not at all! It's nice to meet you!'' She said, grinning. She then realised she had just came in between a conversation and placed her ears down a little and looked over her shoulder, with an apologizing smile to John.

Her attention was quickly drawn back to the male, though, as a slight breeze carried his scent back to her nose.
She sniffed air as silently as possible, her head a little turned so that the male wouldn't suspect that she was taking in hís scent. It would be rude to ask the stranger ''why he smelled different''. He probably didn't even know himself... but his scent intrigued her.

((LOL, a little teaser... :P))

Bullet was still enjoying the snow when he heard the soft bark of another canine. He looked up momentarily, seeking the source of such a sound. When he found it, he sighed again and raised his head. Another female, and another nearby. Three of them, then. This would be a... trying existance. He would, for now, give them the benefit of the doubt. His mother had been a strong female, so why shouldn't these girls be?

His attention was then redirected to a third human as he clomped - clumsily, as humans do - through the snow toward him. Bullet sensed this was his "owner" now, and this sensation was backed by the fact that, as the human patted his head, the two trucks revved again and pulled away. In seconds, they were gone. Yes. This was his new charge. "Joshua," apparently. Joshua. He locked it in his mind, silently promising to remember it. When the human motioned for him to come along, he did so, curled tail bobbing with him as he trotted next to his new master.

Before long, he was placed at the front of his new companions. The leader? Hm. He could respect that. After all, he seemed larger than all of them... Except perhaps the male at the back... Even if it was size that he lacked, there was experience. Eyeing him for a moment, he faced forward again and listened to his master.
Trust him.
It was like his old pack all over again. His companions his warriors, he the commander. He knew, however, this would be a little different. They were equals now, though he would be deciding where they would go. He had learned this with his old masters - having been harnessed to a sled a few times, he knew the mechanics of it. Having been in every position, he knew what each was responsible for. As such, he would know when and where he would have to correct a mistake if anyone made one, including himself.

He was confident.
"You ok", he said in his deep bass voice.

"My name is john"
Bullet flinched. Brought out of his thoughts by the other male's voice, he listened, but did not reply immediately. This reaction was mostly because the newest female jumped at the chance to speak. He waited until there was a lapse in her speech, then spoke quietly, his voice definitely not as deep as John's, but imposing all the same.

"Bullet."

He didn't look behind him, preferring instead to examine the road ahead. A lot of snow. The sled would slide over it, but their job was to go through it. Quickly. He glanced behind him again. Yes. These dogs would be able to do it. He was reassured by their air of tenacity. And --

He blinked. The warm air of another's breathing reached him in a place that he was particularly protective of. He swivveled his head around and peered down at the golden female who seemed intent on sniffing away at his... private area. She tried to seem nonchalant about it, but it wasn't working.

"... Excuse me."

Bullet didn't say it with an angry tone, just a firm one. He really wasn't angry.. yet... but he found it a little rude to sniff at someone "in secret."

"Look, little miss. You want information, you talk to me, not to my ass. Okay?"

His voice was slightly humorous now. Females. Always trying to be shy about it. He didn't, however, want her nose figuring out what he was lacking. At least, not that quickly.
