Her sight faded in and out, catching glimpses of the male coming into the scene. He began to lead the tiger away from her, giving her a moment of rest. She was surprised at how well the male worked with another, for such a loner. Though fogged, her eyes seemed to have a look of liking for the other. Shaking it off, she began to blink, trying to brush of the concussion from her survival instinct. It was amazing how they seemed to work in such a dire need, and she was just so impressed by his commitment to keeping her alive, even after their altercation. No matter how this turned out after the fact, she was going to do all she could for him as well. Suddenly, her eyes were lit again, with passion and fire for bringing this beast down.

By this time the male had hold of the tiger’s neck, holding him in submission momentarily. Taking this opportunity of having her sight, she glanced around. She needed a plan, a way to bring him down before this battle delivered the favor to the opposing creature. Then, a sudden cry broke through the air. Turning back, witnessing just how much blood had been spread, the male was now crushed beneath the tiger’s weight. Yet the male continued to rip at the large feline, it was likely to attempt to pry him off. If her head hadn’t been vulnerable, a head butt could be in order, no she needed something else. Her head jolted, trying to think on her feet, then, there was a hollow log in the distance. An eerie smile crossed her maw.

Feeling the vibrations of the earth, the tiger looked over toward the distance. All he could do was gasp as Free charged him, her speed bringing her too close for comfort. With a sudden thud, the tiger was flung off the male, Free holding the log in her mouth, protecting her head from the impact. As the tiger tried to rise, she flung the log to his skull, freeing her maw as it shattered against the beast. Leaning down, she assisted the male in standing. True, he would likely stand fine on his own, but with his lack of breath, she felt he could use a helpful hand. He was there for her, so she was going to do the same. Then, the tiger let out a roar that shook the trees. Free looked up, her eyes falling into a deep hatred for this animal, it will end here.

“Let’s finish this bastard.” she said to the male.

Snarling back, he charged him, clamping her jaw to the side of his face. She heard the slight breaking of bone before she shifted to sink her teeth back into his throat, which was now bleeding perversely. Ripping his neck, she dragged his body to the ground, then pursuing to dig into his belly; hopefully she would soon remove it entirely. But, in her rage she remained open as she tore into his stomach, the tiger grinned before leaning up. His jaws crashed down on her leg, the crunch of her skin and muscles could be heard, the pain caused her to rip out what little she had in her mouth and growl in pain. Her leg lay in limbo between severe pain and a numbing sensation. Her eyes suddenly flashed, becoming in raged he even got that hit in.

With a hoist of her body, she shifted to gain the support of the tree behind them. Now with no need to use her strength to support herself, she began attacking his throat, the sound of ripping muscles became immense. She never stayed in one place, leaving tears and blood in numerous areas of his throat. Finally, she grasped down on one, very tattered area of his neck. He may have a hold of her leg, but her grip on his throat was fatal, and he wouldn’t live to regret what he had done to her. Both creatures tugged, but the tiger cringed whenever the pain in his neck throbbed. Free would cling to him until he decided to let go. All she saw was red at this point.

The tiger's weight crushed onto Kyoto, squishing him into the soil. His breath escaped him in a great whoosh as the tiger shifter position. His eyes went wide, everything fading away from him. The lack of breath was causing his head to spin emmensely. He continued to rake at the tiger's flesh, though his actions began to grow weaker and weaker. He pushed himself on, though, forcing himself to tear at the cat's bloodied skin and fur, making open wounds even worse than they already were. The black wolf could see his 'teammate' moving around after a moment, doing something. He silently thanked the lord.

Just as the female began to do something, the tiger decided to do the same, only paying attention to Kyoto. Through his blurred eyes, Kyoto could see the tiger's teeth shooting forward as the wolf's blows faded to nothing. Just as the feline's teeth connected with the flesh of his neck, the femme crashed into the side of the tiger with something in her jaws. The tiger was flung off of Kyoto, leaving him free to escape. The girl lept over him and sprinted toward the cat, leaving Kyoto to recover. He gasped for breath, his neck bleeding slowly. The tiger hadn't done much damage at all, his teeth merely left a few small gashes. Kyoto would live.

The girl stood by him for a moment, trying to help him up. He shook his head numbly, waving his paw, showing for her to just get the tiger out of here. She spoke some words that made him smirk, making him proud of her. She didn't seem to be the sort of wolf who would be all about fighting and killing, but that changed her personality entirely. He gave one, short, weak chuckle and then coughed. She rushed at the tiger, and he slowly rose to his paws. He hunched his back as he panted slowly, still trying to fully catch his breath. He looked up when his eyesight was finally clear. He was just in time to see the tiger grip the girl's leg with his own sharp teeth. The female let an angered, pained growl split from her maw.

For some unknown reason, this flipped Kyoto's anger switch. Did this tiger think he could toss around a couple of wolves for walking around, trying to settle something? Well, these two were about to show him what was really going on. A hot wave of rage washed over Kyo, causing his eyes to once again go blurry, but this time with fury. Yes, he was now furious. He claws dug into the ground before he shot himself forward, propelling his body toward the big lug. His lips curled back over his teeth, his maw parted, vexxed growls and snarls ripping from his throat and chest. He jumped forward, latching himself on the tiger's hip, digging his claws deep into the flesh, biting down harder than he actually could. He couldn't feel any pain, he didn't notice that the adrenaline was causing his neck to bleed more. He was numb.

He pulled his head back, tearing flesh fresh from the body and spitting it away. He dug his teeth deeper into the open wound, his claws scratching at it, widening it. The tiger then let go of the girl's leg, in order to swing his head around and snap at Kyoto, who he could not reach. The action caused him to fall onto his other side, giving Kyoto and the female a better chance. He shifted closer to his neck, clawing and biting viciously, leaving a deadly mark everywhere he went. He tore at fresh wounds, he tore at healthy skin, he tore at old wounds, he tore at everything. Blood sprayed and leaked everywhere, from everywhere, leaving a huge mess. The tiger seemed to be getting weaker, and the girl looked like she had a big part in that. She had a great grip on his throat still, making the fatal wound deeper and bigger around the edges. They were doing great.

The cat, on the other hand, was getting some weak shots in with his claws. He did draw blood as well, but not as much as he rage-crazed wolves that were going bat shit on his ass. Growls, snarls, roars, echoed across the area, some of anger, some of pain. The two wolves continued to rip and tear at any exposed flesh, though Kyoto was beginning to grow tired, and his numbness was starting to fade. Pain could be felt in some wounds along his pelt, his jaw, and his neck, which was bleeding a bit more now. Nothing too bad though. He forced himself to tear at the flesh more, while the tiger was helpless.

Eventually, he fell off of the tiger's side and lended on the ground in a heap. He couldn't see the girl, he was facing the other way. He panted tiredly, his body aching of stretched muscles, from how he was using them. His lemon eyes were forcing themselves to stay open. He then pushed himself onto his paws, his legs shaking. His tail hung low, his ears still erect. He was on the verge of collapsing, but he was staying strong, staying on his paws, no matter how hard it was. He continued panting, staring at his bloodstained fur, facing away from the other two. He shook weakly, just barely staying up. A wavering sigh escaped his maw, his eyes slowly closing for a few moments. He was slowly rejuvinating himself, making himself recover. He might need it if the female was in trouble. he didn't want the tiger to finish her off, he still needed to talk to that chick.

As the blood slowly dripped from her body, Free’s eyes blurred, her rage pulsating against her chest. The anger made it more and more of a challenge to breathe. Her eyes flashed, shooting a glare toward the tiger. Her teeth continued to dig into the fatal wound of his neck. Every moment the feline dared to tighten his grip, hers mimicked, causing a worse groan from the larger animal. No matter the creatures build, she would never fall before he did. Her father’s words boomed in her ears, taking over her like his own fighting spirit embraced her. This will came from her father, both had a habit of becoming blind when pushed to their limits, and now it would finally come in handy.

Suddenly, a wave of ease fell over her massive wound. She could feel the brisk air chilling the tendons that lay beneath her skin; so much damage had been done. As soon as there was an absence of pressure, her leg fell numb, almost no feeling remained. Looking down all she could see was blood pooling from the gash. Tendons tugged her fangs as the tiger arched his head to impale the male with his fangs; something Free wasn’t about to let happen. Once the tiger made that move, Free clasped down even more upon the tigers tender veins. Every motion the tiger made under Frees jaws caused him to cry out in pain. A sickening grin covered her maw, full of the tiger’s very precious life lines.

The immense feline collapsed on its side, and Free made sure the opportunity didn’t slip away. Gaining her footing, she pounded her now nearly eaten leg right into the tiger’s stomach. Letting it linger against his internal organs momentarily, the impact causing the blood to leave her at an alarming rate. Once her other hind leg gained stability, she hoisted the damaged leg over the other side of the tiger. Now, completely submissive to her wrath, she had straddled the creature, gaining the upper hand. Taking her front legs, she began to claw at the tigers face. Blood squished underneath her paws, the soil now soaked as result of the berserk rage of the wolves. This cat would regret this night, which had finally came as the sun vanished behind the majestic mountains, filling their battlefield in a coat of darkness. Yet she could still see the fire in the tiger’s eyes, which had now grown dim in comparison to her rage.

Suddenly, the tiger shifted beneath her. Piercing blue eyes glance up to witness the male falling to the ground. He was weakening, looking back down; she dragged the tiger by the throat as both bodies shifted against crimson stained grass. Now it was the males turn to obtain a moment of recovery. At this point, she couldn’t even feel the pain, even with her leg continuing to lose its blood. Her paws continued to collide against his face; she felt her claws even graze something firm, like an eyeball. Blood sprayed against her face, moistening the fur around her eyes. To avoid contact, they closed in retort, but as they opened, her cold blue iris’s made the blood look dismal in comparison. She would finish this; prove that messing with this female wasn’t a chance worth taking.

Accepting the risk, she loosened her grip upon his neck, a blood stained paw taking its place as it impaled the fresh wound. And without a moment to recant, Frees jaws plunged into the tigers face. Dislocating enough to take hold of its entirety, from temple to jaw, causing an outright retching cry from the tiger. Clasping her jaws around him, his eyes began to leak the blood from within, a paw still holding its death grip on the fatal neck wound. The tiger finally began to struggle, merely begging to be released, but Free wasn’t having it. The more it struggled, the more pain it inflicted upon itself. Then, with a sudden swipe, Free was knocked in the stomach, taking a vast amount of his face with her.

Bouncing off the tree beside them, Free remained on her feet. Her pants were hollow and raspy, almost fighting to catch her breath. Her fur was now clumped with blood, small collections of fur grouped together, taking nearly off of her green hue with it. Her leg still dripped blood, trailing down her leg until it mixed with the vast amount already on the ground. All legs quivered, weakened by the strain, her head pounding and her lungs struggling to stay inflated. Her stare never left the tiger, his wounds greater then either wolf. His eye now completely covered in blood, shielded by his eyelid in attempt to keep it in place. His neck was a cluttered mess, ripped and worn from wolves’ fangs. Some bone was visible upon his brow, a majority of his face concealed with his very blood. As quickly it could muster, it retreated into the safety of the forest.

As the cat retreated, Free’s rage suddenly diminished. The pain replaced anger and sleepiness overcoming the pain. Finally, her body had enough. Now that she had won, the other surrendering to her might, she was allowed to fall. Pounding against the ground somehow felt soothing. Finally, her body could be supported by the earth. Night had fallen, her vision was blurred and her head continued to throb, only now from her previous blow. Looking up, all she could make out was the golden glow from the male’s eyes. Should she faint, what would he do? Was this the end? Could a wolf take such a cheap shot to kill her while she lay mangled from a won battle? All these questions circled her, too strenuous for the mind to absorb. Finally, her vision faded completely and everything faded to black.

At least she had won.

As he stood, he could hear pained roars and groans coming from behind him. He could even hear tearing of muscle as they cut into each other. He blinked a few more times, then struggled to turn himself around. His paws stepping over each other, almost tangling and causing him to fall on his face. He panted heavily, his chest feeling like it would collapse inward any moment. His entire body ached, the pain from the gashes on his neck throbbing. His eyes strained themselves to look at the battle, only seeing the female flying around, causing blood to fly. The tiger seemed helpless, with as many fatal wounds he had.

To Kyoto, everything seemed so messed up. He couldn't make sense of anything. He didn't really know what was going on with the tiger, why the female was there. Why hadn't the tiger killed him? Without noticing, Kyoto fell to the ground, his head hitting off the ground with a thud. He didn't realize how bad that hurt, seeing as he already had a killer headache. Was he dead? All his pain seemed to be fading, as well as his hearing. But he couldn't slip from reality. He forced his conscious mind to keep him awake. What was going on? The world seemed to lighten up, even though darkness swallowed them all. His paws searched for something on the ground. He didn't know what, but they still searched aimlessly.

His lemon eyes dulled as he began feeling faint. Suddenly, a flashback shot before his eyes. He could see his brother, Blake, and himself playing around. They were still pups. They were laughing and having a grand old time. But something was off. His brother wasn't like himself. Blake seemed to have this weird look in his eyes, and he kept looking off to the side of the meadow. Kyoto didn't seem to care or notice. He just kept pouncing on his brother, nibbling at his ears and toes. His brother was distant most of the time. Finally, Kyoto got fed up at how unplayful his brother was being, so he looked off to the side, where his brother kepts looking. Finally, he say what was so interesting. Glowing orange eyes pierced through the grass, a heap of orange and black fur could be seen peeking over the grass the eyes were staring through. A long, worm-like tail caused the grass to sway, flicking with playfulness.

It looked like the two brothers weren't the only two who wanted to play. Without warning, the tiger lept at the two brothers, but when he looked over, he didn't see Blake. He saw the female that he was with in reality. She was full-grown, though. And now so was Kyoto. The female had this weird look in her eyes as she looked at him, almost like affection, confusion, and fear all mixed together. She started to mouth something to him, but he couldn't understand. Then the tiger jumped onto her, his teeth around her neck, blood spurting everywhere--

"NO!"

Everything was back. He could see the female on the ground, hardly breathing. Kyoto hopped to his paws, pain shooting through his body and a gruntled growl of pain split from his maw. He groaned, trying to stop the soreness before he looked up again. The tiger was gone. He looked around, but found nothing but blood, more blood, and the female on the ground, with blood all around her. His eyes widened, his jaw dropping. "No..." He uttered, very slowly walking toward the girl. He flinched with each step, cringing. The darkness was making it hard to see, even the moon being covered by clouds. Dark clouds.

He reached the girl, who's eyes were closed, her chest hardly heaving at all. Her whole body was limp. He nudged her neck, seeing if she was awake. She didn't move. He nudged her again with his nose. Nothing. "Goddamnit, just wake up!" He groaned, clenching his teeth. Suddenly, some raindrops fell to the ground, hitting him and the girl as well. And just as suddenly as that happened, it started to pour. It made sense, though. It had been hot for the past week or so. They needed rain, and it was due to thunderstorm soon. As if on cue, lightning flashed through the sky, lightening things up for a second. Good thing his den was right there.

He bend low to the ground, using all of his strength to pull her up onto his back. He pushed his nose beneath her, forcing his body beneath hers. She hung limply off his body as he rose, the pain excrutiating. It took great effort to walk, but he used every ounce of strength he had in his body. He dragged his paws all the way to his den, getting soaked by the rain. The thunder was deafening, the lightning blinding. After about 5 minutes, he finally got to the mouth of his den. He set her down on the soaked ground. Would it be easier to push her in, or pull her in? Probably pull. With that, he quickly scurried into his den, then turned around and faced her. Why was he doing this? Didn't he hate her? Was he feeling pity for her? Or perhaps more? What was that dream thinger all about? Did she feel affection for him? But how? He was such a dick to her.

After another minute of eternal conflict, he finally grasped her neckfur with his teeth and pulled her in slowly, as not to hurt her. Once he got her in, he placed her in the middle of the den so she could get comfortable once she awoke. He nudged her once more, but nothing happened. He gave a shallow sigh, then walked over to the far side of the den. With her being in the middle, and him being up against the wall, there was still only a few inches of space between them. Maybe half of a foot. He then collapsed to the ground, and fell sound asleep once his head hit the ground.

What a weird night.

Free’s eyes twitched lightly through the night, her dreams keeping her somewhat there. She wasn’t sure if she had died though. Whether the tiger or gods forbid the male, took her out at the last moment. Still, her dreams were pleasant. It was autumn, and there were wolves standing in the distance, looking toward her. She smiled, her tail wagging, before a familiar maw lowered itself to brush her lightly. Laughing, she noticed the large brown male, covered in her similar shade of spots. This was a dream, her size merely reached slightly higher than his paw, she was a pup again. With a nudge of his head, Free followed her father down toward her home pack. Maybe this was her life reaching out to her, comforting her as she made her way to the afterlife.

Then, a roar of thunder clashed. The land she had known was shrouded in gray, a pride of mountain cats had made their way down, and they were outnumbered. Oddly, the rain seemed to feel so real, but wasn’t this a dream? The sudden cry of her family snapped her back to the memory, witnessing her father battling powerfully against a tiger, a single bite to the neck rendering the animal dead. Then, a sudden howl called, booming in her ears. Before she could see her family, images of the tiger, one different from the mountain dwellers came into vision. No, that was the one from earlier. Then, the males yellow eyes flashed, her and him attacking the tiger. The pain in her leg surged, causing light whimpers to escape her sleeping maw. Then, the clutter of images finally forced her eyes open.

The area was light, rays of sun leaking into the slightly shallow den, one she instantly recognized. The males den was bare, a now dried wet trail led from the entrance down to her current resting place. Did…did he drag her down into the den? Well at least the male seemed to have the courtesy to leave her alive, even when he seemed ready to tear her throat out. Birds sang their morning tune lightly outside, it made Free smile for a moment. Then, she noticed a collection of black in the corner of her eye. The male was there as well, hopefully still sleeping. She still was heaving lightly after waking from her nightmare. Once her breath settled, she attempted to rise to her feet, quickly to fall back to the ground. Looking back, she whispered a curse as she gazed upon her now scabbed over leg.

That filthy beast seemed to get her pretty good. Now this would surely cripple her. Still, with her will keeping the pain at bay, she rose again. This time she leaned to the side opposite of her injured leg, hopefully keeping as much pressure off it as possible. She had to leave, if the male should wake, he would surely restart their battle last night about her intruding. It was best if she just made her way out of the den and leave the forest. That way, she would be long gone and he wouldn’t have to fret about her anymore. Besides, she was strong, she could fend for herself. Slowly, she began to walk toward the entrance, her attempt at placing her leg down caused pain to course through her; a light hissed echoed through the den.

After a moment, she made it toward the base of the den. Her head gazed toward the entrance, observing the still imprinted mark of her being moved into the den. Softly, she turned to the male for a moment, he still appeared asleep, but she wasn’t sure. Something inside pulled at her, feeling the need to thank him somehow; he didn’t need to do what he did. However, if she stayed, he would likely just be upset with her still. Just because he had a heart, he also had a temper, and she was in no shape to take him on in combat. Though she admitted she couldn’t fight, she still believed she could bare the wilderness. Turning back, her head held high, she pushed herself up and leapt lightly as she clung to the openings edge.

Honestly, her gripping the edge, her good leg trying to keep her stable was rather comical. If her leg wasn’t overcome with pain, it would be easy to leave, but she felt like a fool.

The black male was deep in his slumber, dreaming blurred and colorful dreams. Though the main color seemed to be red and variations of grey and orange. Must still be random dreams about that tiger. He began to grow restless as the rain died out, scratching at the walls like he normally did during the night. He awoke a few times, to find that the female was fast asleep, passed out if nothing. She was still breathing, though, and that formed an aura of relief, for some reason. Shortly after he awoke each time, he would roll over and drift back into unconsciousness, where more dreams would overcome him, followed by a few more wakings, before he fell back to his dead sleep until morning greeted him.

Finally, the sun began to rose, and Kyoto's sleep got lighter and lighter. He could hear the female moving around, and a thud sounded from where she was. He kept his eyes closed, kept his breathing slow and deep, and just listened. He was great at fake sleeping. He heard her swear quietly, and that made the corner of his lip twitch very slightly. He quickly smoothed his face, and relaxed his muscles. He could hear her padding awkwardly toward the entrance, then suddenly, everything was quiet. He continued to breath slowly, his face peaceful, his body relaxed. The perfect little show.

Suddenly, he could hear her claws scratching against the ground as she jumped foward. He cracked open an eye and found himself looking at an awkward sight. She seemed to have jump at the mouth of the cave and latched on with only her three legs. He gave a quiet sigh and silently rose to his paws. He took a few steps and sat down in the middle, where she had been laying. He stared at her back, smirking at her failed attempt at escaping and then rolled his eyes when she seemed to be having troubles. Why was she even trying to walk around on that leg? The tendon was more than likely torn, which would cause perminent damage, or it was just temporarily damaged. Either way, it would hurt like a bitch to walk on. She must have been out of her mind.

The black brute cleared his throat, and then began to speak, "where do you think you are going? You won't even be able to walk." His voice was gruff and thick with sleep. He tried to clear it again, and got some of the phlegm out of it. He looked at her with a disaproving stare, his pose and voice casual. "I was hoping you'd stay a bit longer." The words came out before he had time to stop them. He didn't realize how affectionate that could sound. In order to cover the words, he changed his expression to one that was more stern than anything. His normal hard, cold look.

Once she would turn to look at him, he would give her a look that would almost say 'Well?' without him actually saying anything. Then he would wait to see what she said. If she would stay, he would try to learn more about her. If she wanted to leave, then he would go for a bath and carry on with his daily routine. He needed to clean up anyways. He had dried blood all over his fur and he felt pretty disgusting. Not that he was a pretty boy or anything.

For some odd reason, a part of him wanted her to stay. He had this weird feeling whenever he looked at her. Maybe it was just the urge he had to slap her around for intruding in his home. Whatever. It didn't matter. She was just some chick anyways. Just another female he didn't need.

After taking a moment to regain herself, she attempted further to crawl out of the entrance. Yet the harder she worked, the more ridiculous she felt. Her head was probing out of the entrance, but with her lack of support her shoulders remained enclosed. The sun falling on her face made her insides warm, but she was also growing more and more irritated. ‘stupid door…this looked way bigger before. Maybe if that filthy cat didn’t fuck it up I could –‘ her out loud thoughts were suddenly interrupted from a voice coming behind her.

Slowly, cautiously, she turned her head to slip back into the shelter. The broad male just sat there, bold and still, right where she had been sleeping. Out of habit, a goofy smile crawled across her face, feeling a bit silly with someone noticing her. His face barely altered, once she recalled the night before, she scoffed lightly. Her head tilted back toward the door and her eyes closed, in a whatever matter. “I can do whatever I please..besides, of course I can walk. I won’t be fast…and it won’t be pleasant, but I can get it done.” she huffed. Just before she could poke her body back out, the males next words flowed into her ears. Her body halted; slowly her head peaked back in. Her glance was confused and frazzled, as if he had said something so random it creped her out.

Just hours ago this male wanted nothing to do with her, now suddenly he was begging her to stay? Why did males always have their minds lost in a clutter? One ear fell back while the other stood erect; it was obvious she was confused. Yet his expression suddenly hardened, obviously seeing how odd that previous statement sounded. Now she wondered if she would be better off staying with him. Any moment he could turn and attack her, but why not just leave her for the tiger then? And he was right…it was hard to walk, though she would never say she couldn’t do it, but it would be an annoyance to. It was a pretty deep fork in the road she had to choose from.

Glancing down at her leg, she noticed just how badly it was damaged. What if she could never walk right again? That would be the end, since she would be stuck and never be able to travel again. Plus she wasn’t sure if this male was the best companion to get stuck with. Looking up, she then faced the male. All in all, he had a heart. No matter the mood he displayed last night, he seemed to beam today. He had saved her, assisted her, and in the end gave her shelter. So maybe he wouldn’t be as bad as she was assuming. After all, at this rate she needed to make do with what she had. With a heavy sigh, her body shifted its weight, she allowed herself to gently slide back to the dens floor.

Before her body could land awkwardly, she allowed her feet to catch her and ignored the sudden pain as her right hind leg hit the soil. Getting upright she looked at the male, “Alright…but any funny business and I’m out of here. Besides…I’m not sure why you want me here anyway, especially after last night.” she stated, her tone still full of uncertainty and questioning his motive. Limping, she made it to where he sat, mimicking his pose as she too sat in front of him. Her distance was short but well acknowledged. She was awake and ready to go bathe, but until then she preferred to sit, her leg needed as much rest as possible. Something pulled at her though, saying that the male wasn’t as big of a brute as he led on. And even if he was crude and wanted to keep some image, she did owe him one thing at least.

“But thanks..for pulling me in last night….you didn’t have to do that.” she stated. Though it was the polite thing to do, no wolf needed to take another one in, especially one they never met. “I’m Freerider by the way.” she pointed out; surprised she had gone this long without his name.

At first, the green and brown female seemed to be very reluctant. Hmm, guess she still remembered about last night. He still did want to yap at her for that. He watched her with careful eyes as she seemed to think things over. After he said what he had, she seemed to be pretty confused. She froze, taking on a very confused pose. After a long moment of internal battle - he could have almost sworn he saw a little devil placed on her left shoulder, and an angel on her right - she finally slipped back into the den and slid to the ground. Kyo stepped back to give her some space, then sat back down, looking down at her.

“Alright…but any funny business and I’m out of here. Besides…I’m not sure why you want me here anyway, especially after last night.”

He smirked. Yep, she remembered last night, all right. He shrugged his beefy shoulders, his eyes dimming a bit. "Well, go ahead and leave, but I'm not going to be the one dragging their ass around because of a screwed leg. Just offering a place to stay while you heal. Take it or leave it, now's your chance to decide." He voice turned sharp as he said put in his two cents, returning back to his grumpy self. His eyes changed from the liquid they were, to solid rock.

“But thanks..for pulling me in last night….you didn’t have to do that.”

He gave a huff and shrugged his shoulders again. "Yeah, whatever. No problem. Just didn't want to leave you out there, I guess. It was pouring rain and you already looked half-dead. That would have almost been too cruel for even me." His attempt at a joke seemed to fail, for his tone of voice killed it entirely. Once she introduced herself, he nodded his head and repeated the name in his mind. FreeRider.. It seemed to fit how she looked. He assumed everyone called her Free, so he would call her Rider, just to be different. He fought a smile, then introduced himself as well. "I'm Kyoto. By the way." He added the last part as sort of a humorous thing, trying to lighten the mood a bit. He needed to practice that. That was a fact.

After a short moment, his stomach growled. He scowled down at his belly, the sighed. "Are you hungry? I'm going to go out and get some food. You can have some when I get back." He sighed again and then stepped around her, headed for the mouth of the cave. Once he got there, he looked down and found dried blood smeared along the ground in a trail, leading to about where she was right now. He smirked and looked back to her. "You made a mess in my home, woman." He faked an angry tone, then chuckled lightly and headed off, into the open.

He stepped out into the area where they fought the tiger, and quicky looked over the area. Seemed as though the rain had done it's job. It washed away most of the blood from the ground, all of it from the leaves, but left spots of it on rocks and the bark of tree trunks. He nodded his head in approval, then walked off to his favorite hunting spot. He walked for a few minutes, enjoying the sun and the water he came across in large puddles. The trees filtered the sun's warm rays perfectly, allowing it to just dapple the dark fur of his back, and the ground around him. He broke through the thick wall of trees and then crouched low to the ground, hiding himself from the now bright sun. He hid in tall grass, his eyes keen on any movements.

There it was, the perfect chance at a meal. He licked his lips hungrily, preparing his stiff and sore muscles for the event, beginning to ignore the pain that tugged at his mind. A large buck stood a ways off, grazing on the lush grass, while the doe and the baby stood together in the center. The youngling seemed a bit older, and looked like it would be the perfect amount for both of them, with a bit left over. The baby looked ill, as well. It seemed to be a bit skinnier than usual, and had a bit of troubles standing on it's own. Great. The black wolf continued to creep forward, his paws silent against the ground, his ears erect, listening for sounds, his eyes slitted and locked on the child.

He took a larger step forward, then stopped when the baby looked up. The mother nudged it affectionately, encouraging it to eat more. Ahh, not smart, mom. You just got your baby killed. Kyo thought sickly, stepping forward a few more pawsteps. he coiled his muscles, allowing them to tighten around his bones, his pulse accelerating with the excitement of being able to sink his teeth into the tough flesh of the deer's hindquarters. His claws extended and dug into the ground for a second before he pushed onward.

The buck was totally oblivious as he turned the other way, walking further away from his mate and offspring, while the doe continued to lick and nuzzle her child. The young one seemed to let go of it's fear and continued to munch happily on the grass. Kyoto grinned. Perfect. With that, he took one last step forward, so he was close enough to the deer, then sprang into action. He leaned back on his hind legs, then shot himself forward, letting his front paws hit the ground after a second of flying. The doe looked up with her eyes wide and began to bleap at the baby, trying to turn it around by nudging it a bit harder. Kyoto plunged forward, the buck ran away. What a cowardly thing. The doe continued to nudge and push the baby, but in result, it fell over. It made gurgled shrieking sounds, trying to get back onto it's feet. The doe looked at Kyoto - who was almost right next to them - and then back at the baby, and then ran for her life, following the buck who was already way ahead. He almost felt bad for the young deer, but jumped onto it with extended claws and bared teeth anyways.

He hopped to the deer's throat and placed his mouth around it, biting down with great force. Finally, he gave a quick tiws of his head and a loud snap filled the air. The deer's noises and strugles cut off and the animal went limp. He stepped off of the deer and gave it a quick look-over. He kinda hoped Rider would have followed him. He didn't really want to carry the big thing back. He gave a sigh and then took a hunk of meat off the tigh of the deer. He quickly swallowed the meat, letting the hot blood refresh his dry throat, and then placed his teeth frimly on the animal's hind leg, beginning to drag it away.

His response made her smile, there seemed to be a lighter air in the den. Maybe the whole tension from the nights past could be dropped. He had given her the choice to leave or stay, and she stayed, so discussing about it further would be ludicrous. Hopefully her temporary stay would now become a pleasant one. Then, there was a low growl that covered the cozy den, a small chuckle left her lips. Honestly though, she was starting to get hungry as well, especially after such a battle, one could only crave more flesh to consume after such a bloodshed. Slowly, he rose and began to head for the entrance, now she looked surprised.

Was..was he actually telling her he would give her some of her kill? Before she could detest, he was stating the mess she made, then he vanished. Now left alone, her face distorted in slight aggravation, once she was safe she even let out a huff. Her cheeks puffed and her tail seemed to stand on end, this male couldn’t be serious. She wasn’t some helpless dame that couldn’t bring down her own kill, the idea of feeding off another’s kill that had not been brought down by a pack and offered to her, it just insulted her. Surely the male meant no harm, and she wasn’t against males in the slightest, just the thought of being a helpless female pissed her off. She almost looked like a large fuzz ball, all her hairs erect with frustration. She would show him, and with a pouty face, she rose to her feet; the instant pain reminded her.

Looking back, it was hard to lay eyes on the leg. Like a deadly fight, you didn’t want to look but you couldn’t glance away. There she went again, her pride blinded her she kept forgetting she had one useless leg. In truth, there was almost no way she could hunt in these conditions. Yet she still had this urge, to prove herself. After standing idle for a few moments, she began to limp toward the entrance, though she wasn’t looking forward to going through the same issue she had only moments ago. Climbing the dens incline, she found herself in the exact place she was before. Beginning to wiggle, she even allowed some pressure on her leg, and once her shoulders were out of the den, she easily slipped out and met with the forest outside.

Now that she was in the outside, she was relieved she pushed her way out. Even if she decided to stay back, being cooped up in a den just made her feel claustrophobic. A light breeze caressed her fur, blowing it from her face and even soothing the wounds. The smell of morning dew and the storm passed filled her nose, chilling all of her senses. How she loved nature, being in wide open spaces, it only brought her down to think how she was limited. The thought of being stuck, not because of who she was with but just never being the same after this, it was just something she couldn’t bear. Rather than focus on it however, she began to head deeper into the forest, following the tracks Kyoto left behind.

The trees gave off the perfect amount of rays, strange designs covering her fur as the leaves blocked the sun. Her pace was steady, limping and usually her leg remained off the ground. The forest was silent, only the sound of her footsteps kept her company. Eventually a strange bird chirped in a tree above her, but mostly, she seemed to be the only one nearby. Just how far did that male travel anyway? She would help him somehow, earn her share her way. Suddenly, the image of deer in the distance caught her eye. The look of surprise was clouded with hunger, her tongue trailed her lips, grazing over her teeth and she began to salivate. Her body crouched, her muscles tensed, she would take her own kill, and that calf was looking just about her level in her current state. Her expression became wild, crazed with hunger, with her instincts overtaking her; she forgot about the leg and was ready for the easy kill. Yet in a sudden burst, her current state wavered as growled echoed through the forest.

Kyoto had leapt through his concealment and pounced on the young calf, just as he came into sight; both elder deer were retreating her way. Ears falling back, she moved out of their way to avoid being trampled, but as the large male approached, she leapt and landed on the male. Her leg throbbed, but she ignored the pain as her fangs sunk into the side of the buck. It wasn’t the best approach, but she was going to try her best to catch something on her own. Yet with the pain surging and her failed attempt at the angle to get the males neck, she lost her grip as he bucked her off, only losing a slab of flesh in the process. Tumbling to the ground, Free managed to land on her side, a bit sore from being knocked off, but a smile crossed her lips. The taste of the powerful buck lingering in her maw, tasted like success, satisfied with getting a piece, hopefully showing whoever saw that her leg would never truly cripple her. Cockily, she engulfed the piece of meat lingering in her fangs, lapping it up without it dropping to the ground.

Rising up on her feet, she glanced behind her to spot Kyoto, dragging the kill behind him. Now that she felt her ego returning, she limped over toward his position. Smiling at him kindly, her body walking around him to take his rear side; it came off more sensual then she truly meant. Once she was behind him slightly, she sunk her fangs into the deer’s neck. Pulling it to where she would be walking beside Kyoto, the deer lacing between them, she grinned and spoke out, muffled with her mouth being full. “I can a weast help you carrwy it.” she stated, her words altered by the deer hanging in her mouth.
