"Nah, even though it is half true.. She, as well as the pack knows that sometimes I like to wander around... A bit too long for my own good."

Even so it the Beta got snippy with him she's be willing to take the heat for the Hunter.

"That's great!"

Excalimed Cahal at her remark. The General smiled, "Thanks for wakin' me up." she mentioned. She didn't have to rely on her dreams anymore, she had a true-blue friend now.

Selia's head slumped low, blinking in the late sun's rays. Her legs ached, they must have walked at least several miles and still had yet to come to the pack's borders. Lifting her head slightly she eyed Cahal, "We there yet?" she asked.

They'd travelled a bit farther now.. and in all truths, Cahal had started to get a bit worried. He knew this area.. and yet, how could he not see it now? When she'd asked about the border, Cahal said, "I think we're almost there.. Give me a moment." he stopped where he was, before raising his maw into the air. He gave a sniff, before going to the ground. Yup, they were close. "It's this way." he mentioned with a smile as he started walking even more then.

He could hardly contain his excitement now. He had small yips made deep in him while his tail wagged. "We're almost there Selia! It's so close now!" he commented as they went. He sudenly stopped before glancing, looking both ways. "This is the borderline!" he declared, when spottign something on a tree.. Claw marks.. of his packmates! "We're finally here! Let's see if we can get someone to escort, other than myself." Cahal chuckled with a wink then as they headed in farther now.. cahal let out a barking call to his packmates.. hoping someone would approach them...

i'll inform fading tracks she can come into the roleplay now :) )

Howls echoed through the crater, spilling from what many could tell was the border. No one was alarmed however, recognizing the vocals of Cahal. Many tag wagged knowing their comrade had returned from his wanders, the beta Rowena however, didn’t sound pleased. Her tail remained limp, turning toward the sound, a scowl plaguing her face. Of course the head hunter Naois looked relieved to know his brother was safe, and he wanted nothing more than to see him again. However, his face fell witnessing his betas reaction. Returning a glare toward him, silently asking what he was staring at. Traveling was one thing, but Cahal roamed away from home for days, which always seemed to ruffle her fur.

Powell rushed over toward Rowena, who hissed in annoyance as he approached. “Beta Rowena, did you hear? Cahals back!” he stated excitedly, though he noticed the small look Naois had as he gazed over at him, one that warned Powell to silence himself before he did something he would later regret; too late. “Yes Powell…because my ears couldn’t pick up his puplike howl a mile away.” she stated sarcastically, Powell lowering himself in regret. He should have known better, she was always worse when the wanderer returned home. Looking away, Rowena calmed herself; the poor messenger didn’t deserve this. Then, her ears rose, catching a peculiar pitch in the wolf’s tone. Her brow raised curiously, an suspicious look on her face.

“Cahal is requesting an escort…what the hell would this be?” she asked aloud, Naois and Powell looking equally confused. Why a pack member would request someone to come to them was odd, and Rowena didn’t like the sounds of it. Still, she wasn’t about to waste time returning the pups call, instead she would wait below for them to arrive. “Powell…go..escort Cahal to me. I will go warn the alphas of his odd request, we might have an injured party on our hands.” she stated, strolling off toward the alphas cave. Accepting her command with a respectful yes m’am, he started off in the borderlines direction before a small tug caught his interest.

Naois had a gentle grip of Powells tail, once his attention was fully on the hunter, Naois released him. Walking closer to him, there was a small smile on his face, not a rarity, but still uncommon. Looking down at him, he shook his head lightly. “You take the time off Powell; I will go meet my brother at the border. After all, it’s been awhile since I’ve seen him.” he stated, his voice soft before he started off on a trot, once Powell greeted him to leave, his trot shifted to a run. Seeing his brother after a couple of weeks would be a treasure. For this time, he would do his best to hold back his discomfort for how long he had traveled away; it was more worth it to just see Cahal again.

Bounding up the crater walls, he reached the canyons edge, his brother a vague image in the distance. Also with him, was another form, one he became slightly on edge with. But since Cahal had not called out in distress, this must have been the reason for an escort he had requested, something he knew Rowena would not take kindly too. Until he brought his brother back, he would concern himself with Rowena when she spoke to Cahal, for the moment, he just wanted to greet his younger brother. Once he grew closer to Cahal, his speed decreased before he simply strolled over in his brother’s direction. Still there was that light smile he had from before. “Well, look whose came back.” he said kindly, before giving his brother a gentle nuzzle.

Cahal heard a reply in a matter of moments. Howls in return answered his call, and his tail began to wag even faster. "They'll be coming soon! someone will come to greet us," Cahal mentioned, glancing back to where Selia was. As the two walked on, Cahal said, "Now I thought about this while we were travelling... and, considering our pack is located in a quiet and um.." he tried thinking of the word to put how far they were really from anywhere that was a bit social to outsiders. "Detatched from a bit of. . . social things, Beta Rowena might be a bit skeptical of why I'm bringing you here." Cahal told her.

"Um.. she might get a bit, tone-y with you.. So I'd be careful, but don't worry too much. She's just looking after us all." Cahal said as they walked on. Peering up, he suddenly saw a figure in the distance. All right! Their escort had come. But as he narrowed his eyes a bit more, and as the figure came even closer, Cahal instantly knew who it was! His pace quickened, and he already found himself with a gleeful smile on his face, as if he was a pup again. It was Naois, his elder brother. Thrilled that he would be their escort, Cahal and Naois met as they were face to face; after all this time..

"Brother! It's so good to see you.." Cahal said enthusiastically, being given a gently nuzzle by his brother. In return, Cahal rubbed heads with Naois before his tail thumped as he sat. "It's been.. a while.. I'm sorry about my, absense. It's, unacceptable, I know. But!" Cahal said. He turned his head to where Selia was. "I ran into a wolf, an elder. And she's a great warrior, too Don't let age decieve!" Cahal mentioned. "General, this is my elder brother, Naois." Cahal told her. "Naois.. this is General Selia, and I was hoping that.. maybe she could become a member of our pack." Cahal said then, a small smile as he waited for a reply.

He knew telling this to Naois wouldn't be difficult at all. Naois would understand him, right? Whereas, to tell Beta Rowena about wishing for an outsider to join the pack... that would be where the difficulty would begin.

Excitement made the elder's skin itch, it had been such a long time. A pack, friends, wasn't she the one who had come to accept newcomers to her own pack once ago? The tables had turned, she was being judged this fine sunset. She wondered would she fool them with her age, judge their packmate with confusion as they would find that he had not brought back a useful spry young wolf but an old scarred up bat like her.

Howls echoed around the crater area, ringing in her old ears, they brought back memories they did. But for some reason the ones she remembered were a bit more...angrier sounding...perhaps bells of war. "They'll be coming soon! someone will come to greet us," "Now I thought about this while we were travelling... and, considering our pack is located in a quiet and um.." "Detatched from a bit of. . . social things, Beta Rowena might be a bit skeptical of why I'm bringing you here."Cahal mentioned, a court nodd of the wolffess head in response, "Course, to be expected."

"Um.. she might get a bit, tone-y with you.. So I'd be careful, but don't worry too much. She's just looking after us all."

"Like a good beta." she said. Finding it hard to see, Selia narrowed her eye at the approaching figure trying to get a better look at what would soon be her packmate. Suddenly the Hunter's pace quickened and the old wolf was jolted from her steady walk as she trotted up alongside Cahal to a stop. "Brother! It's so good to see you.." So this was Cahal's famed brother, explanations were nice."It's been.. a while.. I'm sorry about my, absense. It's, unacceptable, I know. But!" "I ran into a wolf, an elder. And she's a great warrior, too Don't let age decieve!"

The female grinned widely in greeting, "I'm young at heart, don't cha' know!" she added. "General, this is my elder brother, Naois." "Naois.. this is General Selia, and I was hoping that.. maybe she could become a member of our pack." The old war vetran beamed a smile at the Hunter's brother, "So you're Naois? You're brother's been talkin' about you. Glad to meet ya'!"

Naois smiled warmly as he nuzzled his younger brother, though it was soon that his pained feelings settled in. He had a strong distaste for his brother going on his travels, not because he wanted to bind him down, but how long his brother left would be unacceptable to other packs. Still, for the sake of what he noticed was a guest, he kept his emotions to himself, though it wasn’t odd behavior for him. Seeing that Cahal indeed had a guest, he grew worried of how their beta would react. Surely though she would remain still as stone once their alphas had anything to say. As his brother began to introduce the two, he gave the elder a kind smile.

“So I see..it’s a pleasure to meet you as well.” he replied, a small chuckle in response to her youthful statement.

The name elder was logical, seeing as he could not only observe, but also feel the age to this wolf. She leaked of wisdom from age, and he was particularly interested in getting to know her, hearing stories of times passed and learned from her grown logic. They had older wolfs in their pack, but most of their elders died awhile back, having a new member, especially an elder would be a wise addition. The title of general only enthused him more; they could use more fresh minds for the battlefield. Plus, being older and wiser, she could be a favored teacher for Rowena. Even though their beta was young, she possessed a certain strength beyond her years, still a pair of older eyes might help her reach a grander potential. Yet they would be lucky to get Rowena to see in their point of view. Shaking his head lightly, he turned on his feet.

“I know what Rowena will say about this, but I feel the alphas might be more accepting. We better be off, the sooner we meet with Albion the better.” he responded, starting off in the direction of the canyon.

At the foot of the crater stood the alpha male Albion. Though putting off a threatening stance with his size and posture, he really was a gentle wolf, so long as Venetia wasn’t pregnant. Rows of wolves lined the inner edges of the crater, lying across the jagged rocks as they sat for the view of the alphas judgment. All were ecstatic to witness the incoming wolf, it had been ages since they have seen wandering souls; after the departure of Six and Free, the pack seemed a little more welcoming of new comers. Rowena stood a good distance from the alphas, waiting to meet with the wolves first hand. The look on her face was leaking with aggravation. Her word compared to the alphas would be useless, still she wanted to let Cahal know how she felt. It might be crude and hurtful, but how he got off thinking he could invite members to their pack, being the one constantly away from the pack, just pissed her off royally. Once she noticed Naois descending the crater, she approached. Albion seemed to allow her, knowing she would have something to say about it. Plus, he had great respect for the beta, and he opinion mattered to him.

Walking up toward him, Rowena’s voice was hushed, though it hissed venom at the younger wolf. “I don’t know what you’re getting at Cahal, but I’m not liking it..” she hissed, ignoring Naois who was staring down at her. “He is offering to allow her in our pack.” Naois responded. “That’s not for him to decide, and before you go off being smart with me, I mean he has no place to invite others to our pack when he’s nearly a stranger himself.” she growled, now taking her attention to the elder brother. Though he hated her attitude, she knew he agreed with where she stood. “We’ll see what she has to offer..and what the alphas decide.” she hissed to both of them. “You may approach.” Albion stated, firm yet unthreatening, as a irritated Rowena headed over to sit close to the alphas.

Cahal smiled as his older brother gave a polite smile to Selia, as well as a welcoming greeting. Cahal's tail wagged, knowing that things were going just as smoothly! Although, then Naois had mentioned about Beta Rowena's response to this all, and for a moment Cahal felt a shiver go up his spine. He knew he'd get a hell of a lecture, that was for sure. Plus, she probably wouldn't forgive him until the next moon cycle. It also lessened his chances of her ever seeing him more as just one of the hunters; the most probable immature / youngest bunch of the two. Inexperienced, and very, very unreliable.

Cahal knew that was to be expected, but still whenever he was in her presence he was between melting and almost nervously belly to the ground when she would speak harshly to him. Why, even when he'd just be there, a sense of uncontrollable nervousness washed over his entire being. He proved himself in front of her of a coward, when really he just wanted to act as himself and not be so insecure. Nodding his head, Cahal said, "I'm ready to take whatever she throws at me, brother." he then added, "Let's go see the Alpha.." With that, the three began to walk off and headed out back to the crater.

It took only a few moments, and already Cahal could spot his packmates, friends, a few of the pups, and Beta Rowena. She stuck out like a sore thumb, but he was glad. But he averted her gaze quite quickly before looking to Alpha Albion. Off to the side was Alphess Venetia, with her pups beside her as she looked to Cahal, sending off a warm smile while her eyes were intrigued by the new visitor. Was this a passerby, just like Six and Freerider had been?

As the three had already come forth, Rowena went straight to Cahal, who in turn, had his ears slightly foward while his tail hung limp. She'd already not liked him bringing Selia here, and Naois had already tried defending him. Typical, little brother wasn't able to handle this on his own, so his eldest brother did it for him. One day, Cahal would stick up for himself. "With all due respect Beta Rowena," Cahal spoke softly after Rowena had shrugged off Naois' response like a bug, "I find that this could be great for our pack. She is an elder. How many do we have here, to pass on stories to the young ones? I don't remember seeing, or having many elders here.. do you..?"

Afraid to say anymore, thankfully Albion had spoke. He said, probably, for Selia to step forth. With a smile, cahal said, "Show him what you can do!" he softly whispered with a smile Selia's way, before he stood by his brother.

“So I see..it’s a pleasure to meet you as well.”

Naois replied, chuckling warmly. Selai grinned at this, he seemed nice enough, she only hoped that the others were like this as well. “I know what Rowena will say about this, but I feel the alphas might be more accepting. We better be off, the sooner we meet with Albion the better.” Beta Rowena sure was getting alot of bad rap, either it was true or an exzagggeration. The latter of the two was the most prefferable.

"I'm ready to take whatever she throws at me, brother." he then added, "Let's go see the Alpha.."

The General turned with the two brothers, off into the direction of the Crater which held the pack and it's members. At the foot of the crater stood the imposing figure of what obviously was the Alpha. Upon the jagged rocks that erupted out of the crater's sides layed and sat the numerous wolves who called the rocky place home. They leaned outwards with curious eyes, eager to get a better look at the new comer to their pack. A wolffess with a litter of pups caught Selia's attention and she smiled warmly at the mother and her children, how many seasons ago had that been her?

The Beta approached from the ranks aruging with Naois for a moment, Selia kept silent not wanting to cuase trouble for the brother. “We’ll see what she has to offer..and what the alphas decide.” They weren't exagerrating... Soon the thuderous voice of the Alpha called for her. “You may approach.”

Stepping forward she bowed, rising her eyes to the Alpha once so.

"I am General Selia, I seek acceptance into your lands." She'd let him ask the questions.

Albion glanced down at the elder wolf, one who even stood taller to him in age. The battle scars lived up to her title of general, rather interesting. Glancing over, he could sense Rowena’s frustration, which wasn’t entirely misplaced. He too got agitated with the idea of one of his hunters wandering off constantly; still, bringing in new additions to the pack wasn’t entirely in poor judgment. Her head bowed low to him; he was already impressed with the formality. And yet he wondered of what asset she would be to his pack. Her title could be of use to making a more powerful army to defend their territory. Deciding to place that aside, he nodded to her, allowing her to raise her head when she desired.

“As a general, how do you feel your rank could benefit my pack, how well did you work the battles from your previous pack?” he asked, staying as firm in his composure, not wavering.

True, Albion was a gentle soul and really wasn’t too strict in his pack, but leaving a promising impression was a key priority as alpha. Only when his dear alphess was pregnant would he truly be tense. Likely, he would have no problem accepting Selia into his pack, but he wanted to make sure his acceptance was well placed. Rowena seemed to stiffen herself, only hers was not merely for show. If she wasn’t raised with etiquette, she would be on the raving stage by now. Still, he hoped his beta would take kindly to this as well. Though she was still living in her youth, she proved to have intelligence beyond her years, yet an elders influence might do her well.
