Golden Sun (Any!)

Post by Moon » 10-03-2009 21:35

A tawny figure padded wordlessly through the mountians, the sun's final rays eluminating his dusty brown pelt. Scars of battle and survival gleamed a pinkish glow.

Amber eyes roved over a small cliff, he rose a brow in interest and put a little more 'umph' into his step. A few stray stones skidded away from his paws as he settled himself on the edge, gazing out at the setting sun behind the mountains.

Rokai let a ever so slight sigh escape his jaws, there wasn't much here. So what was he doing here? Reminising No, he wasn't one for such things, he just be smothering himself with guilt if he did.

Darting over the sun bleached rocky terrain as a blur, a little she-wolf was on an early evening hunt. Her gray water splash markings churned like the sea itself under a black sky as she chased a good sized mountain rat. The blue and white feather permanently embedded in the fur of the left side of her neck danced wildly in the wind her speed created.

As the rat spontaneously darted in a new direction, she took a second to quickly scan the horizon for a reason. Her hunt came to an abrupt end as she spotted another wolf standing on a nearby precipice. She hit the breaks and came to a pebble rolling skid of a stop.

A single pebble skidded to a stop right in front of the silent wolf. He turned without a word to look at the cause of the sudden noise.

Rokai studied the grey wolffess for a moment, noting the white and blue feather that clung to the fur on the side of her neck and her fluffly black pelt.

His tail twitched and a slight smile arose in his amusement, "And what do we have here?" He said, in a montone voice.

"Uh, Hi." she greeted shyly with a little wag of her bushy tail. 'Woah, this guy is pretty scary looking.' the she-wolf thought, taking in the scars and two weird objects protruding from one of his ears. She wondered what they were.
Offhandedly she also realised she'd lost her rat. Oh well, there were bound to be more where that one came from.

"Uh, Hi."

Perhaps his greeting had come on as too strong? He shrugged carelessly and truned around to observe the setting sun once more. It really was a beautiful sight, sinking behind the mountains in a sea of glorious hues of golds, red, and orange.

He paused thinking over his words before saying them. "Your hunting techine, it needs work."

Tsunami's ears lowered and her tail curled under her in embarassment. She padded at the loose rocks in front of her with one forepaw before responding. "It does." she agreed sheepishly. At the age of two she knew she probably didn't have as much practice as she should have for her own age, let alone enough skills to impress any wolf even slightly older. 'Is he going to start giving me pointers or is he just making fun of me?' she wondered, ears lowering more.

"It does."

Rokai didn't need to see her to tell that she looked a little ashamed at this. A friendly smile crept it's way onto his features, "Experience comes with age, m' dear." he said.

Her ears went back up and her tail wagged at his understanding comment. She moved to stand closer to him so she could get a better view of the sunset. "It's beautiful." she said, "I wonder why sunsets are always prettier than sunrises?"

He remained still as the black she-wolf came closer, "I wonder why sunsets are always prettier than sunrises?" she asked. A quiet hmm emitted from the brone furred male as he began to think.

"Perhaps it is because the setting of the sun brings a close to a day, and the rising of the sun brings the begining." He paused for a moment, "And the begining is empty of any events, the ending however is full."

Tsunami looked at the male wolf in awe as he spoke. He seemed to exude wisdom. After she realized that she was staring at him she quickly looked away hoping he hadn't noticed her unintentional rudeness. "Um, I'm Tsunami by the way. What's your name?" she asked both to fill the ackward, to her anyway, scilence and because she really did want to know.
