~*The Looks*~

Not the tallest of canines, standing only at 66cm she is about the same height as an average Bernese Mountain Dog and perhaps as big as a normal Arabian wolf, putting her quite smaller than the larger Gray Wolf or bigger dog breeds. Her legs though are quite long and that comes from the Red wolf blood from her father. But for Kirya, her stature is perfect for her abilities and body type. She has a lithe body, slender to which she is capable of maneuver out of just about every nook and cranny. She is really flexible, traits she seemed to have inherited from her Norwegian Lundehund blood that include bending her head backwards 180 degrees to touch her spine and spreading her arms out flat all the way 180.

While her mother did not have the active genes for many of these Lundehund traits, Kirya exhibits them all. She is equipped with 6 toes on each paw allowing her a very strong grip on rocks and rough edges and combined with her small size and light weight she is able to scale trees and other difficult to climb surfaces. The ears on her head are quite large, taking after the Arabian wolf in her blood and she can snap them shut against her head to prevent anything from getting inside. Her fur coloration takes after the Bernese mountain dog blood in her family.

Heterochromia iridum is evident in her two colored eyes, her left one a copper brown and her right a lovely sky blue; both speak volumes of knowledge and intellect. On her right shoulder there seems to be the birthmark of a four-pointed star. Her fur is smooth and silky and she adapts well to the seasons having a thicker coat during the winter and then lighter during hotter times.

Though small, she is stronger than she looks which causes people to always underestimate her. With her long legs Kirya is extremely fast and agile; with fast reflexes and strong jumping abilities she can overwhelm others without much difficulty. Her strength is a little more than average but let’s just say strength is not her strong point. While she can best the strongest females in fights against males her strength pales in comparison, but she makes it up with her speed and quick-thinking.

Overall she is a beautiful girl in physical appearance although her quirky traits, eyes, plus personality tend to steer people away from her.

~*The Mind*~

So young and yet so mature. Kirya was forced to grow up at an early age due to the unexpected and early death of her father that left her mother in a depression. She had to go from the wild back to a domestic village and struggled to feed both herself and her mother when the village rejected them both. Her mind is young, but she definitely inherited her father’s brains as she is quick-witted and intelligent. She’s not fooled so easily and she always critically thinks on matters, never one to listen to the lies of others or be guidable. Determined and strong-willed when she sets a goal for herself she will achieve it and no one will stop her. Mentally she is strong and callously ignores the harsh words and criticism the dogs of the village direct towards her and her mother for being in the company of a wild wolf.

Kirya does not hold the traditional mindset of either wolf or dog but a blend of both that makes her unique. She does not like the dogs for being so narrow-minded and bigoted but she’s not foolish to think that all wolves are like her father as she saw for herself how some can be vindictive. Strongly self-opinionated and unbiased she makes her decisions based on what she thinks is morally correct and does not conform to extremes. She stands up for her beliefs and does not tolerate disrespect to others. While she may not agree with many of the things the village dogs think, for her respect is everything and she makes it a goal to respect all life despite the differences that occur.

Loves her family deeply, cherishes her mother and always thinks of Gerard when she’s out on a job. And there is not a day that goes by that she doesn’t remember her father. To her family is first and foremost and she has a loyalty that even death cannot threaten her to break. She is strong enough to take the hate talk from other dogs and yet have a calm enough mind to logically and verbally spar them until they turn tail and cower away. She doesn’t take crap from anyone and she dares anyone to try.

Serious on the job but still she is young and there are times when she is with close friends where she lets her young adult-self show and be funny and silly. She enjoys relaxing with close friends and is adorable when she wants to be. But to the rest of the village she behaves with an aloof manner that tends to steer others clear of her for they know of her reputation. As someone who is different she does not tolerate discrimination or bullying or any type of unintelligent thinking. She stands up for those who need her help and fights for what she believes is right morally and logically.

But while she may seem so strong outside, there are times deep down where she is hurt by the cruel words said by her peers and there are few times where she just wants to cry or in many cases attack and beat up dogs she deems ridiculous and foolish. Much like her father she spends majority of her time alone and with her thoughts or with the wise elders of the village who accept her for who she is. Funny enough she is still young and also wishes that someday she could find someone to truly cherish her; just like how her father and mother were.

Cautious to strangers and people she doesn't know well. Tolerant of idiots and other foolish ones although she does give them their respect. Friendly and relaxed with her friends and family. At times will lose her temper and yell but will always regain composure, apologize and go back to a calm expression. Usually composed and collected and unfortunately short tempered with those she can't seem to get along with. Generous and considerate to those she holds dear. Despite her intelligent nature, she is actually quite naive at times, especially to many things outside the village that perhaps she didn't learn when she was younger.

~*The Story*~

Her mother Sonya was born in a village. She was a beautiful girl who was loved by all. Unfortunately (or fortunately) she did not exhibit active Norwegian Lundehund traits and thus other dogs found her quite attractive without the weird quirks. While beautiful and with a critical mind, she always lusted for adventure and something different than the boring village life. Her parents were working dogs and were bred to try and pass on the much-wanted and rare traits of the Norwegian Lundehund. Sonya was born to a litter of 4, but strangely enough none of the four pups had the traits the breeders wanted.

Growing up Sonya was alone much of her time as her siblings found new homes and her parents were getting old and liked to enjoy their time together and relaxing. She was put to work with the other dogs and she didn’t like it much. Sonya had friends but she felt like she was missing something in life. She rejected the many advances of the village males and her female friends wondered why, especially when she had the affections of the most handsome dog in the village.

But the domestic life was not what she wanted. She did not want to work, and then be bred, and then grow old to take care of pups. She didn’t love any male in the village and she disliked that. One day she became bold and ran away from the village. Scared but also excited, she ran off into the mountains and became lost. Vulnerable and exposed to the harsh foreign terrain, she was ambushed by a pack of 4 wild male wolves who wanted to have some “fun”.

Shocked at the reality of the outside world, she was frozen with fear and awaited her doom. But it never came. For suddenly a small rock slide occurred that caused the wild wolves to run off in fear. It was a strategically move set by Sonya’s savior. A young male Arabian crossed Red wolf had rescued her. Sonya fainted from shock and the wolf had no choice but to take her to his cave.

She awoke the next day to find that he was gone and she wondered where the strange wolf had gone until he was back with food, snow rabbits. Soon after food and introductions, the two became unlikely friends. Sonya was the domestic dog from the village struck with wonder-lust. Aqil, the wolf, was an intelligent and smart wolf who was a loner (as some Arabian wolves are) and enjoyed life in the mountains. While Aqil wasn’t a looker, Sonya found herself attracted to the small yet tall wolf and pretty soon decided she would stay with him to learn more about the outside world.

Time past, the two fell in love and once heat season came they wasted no time in consummating their affections for one another. But when it was time to give birth it seemed nature was against them. A frigid blizzard hit the mountain during the crucial time and Aqil had difficulties finding enough food to feed his mate. Sonya tried her hardest to pull through the terrible winter. Soon her pups were born, three but sadly one was a still-born, the other died after only 2 hours of living, and only the last female survived.

The two parents, sad and yet filled with happiness named their last child Kirya. Kirya grew up with the love of both parents and she was happy. The young girl was adored by mom and dad and neither cared that she somehow had the traits of the rare Norwegian Lundehund. But those traits came in great handy for Kirya with life in the mountainous area. Her six toes and grip strength allowed her to scale the dangerous rocky sides of the mountain and catch prey her father never thought possible. She inherited her father’s brilliant and critical mind and her mother’s kindness and friendly disposition. But that all changed when the four males were back for revenge.

They were still holding a grudge from when Aqil caused the rock slide that sent them running with their tail between their legs. Now they would get their revenge on the family they deemed disgusting and a sin to nature. To allow his mate and daughter to escape, Aqil fended off the attackers and urged Sonya and Kirya to run away.

Not the strongest of wolves, Aqil was at a disadvantage against the four bigger and more savage wolves, so he did something unforgettable. He and his wits caused him to create an avalanche that came rushing down the mountain side, burying everything in its path. He knew that he had to sacrifice himself for his family. He yelled, screamed and forced Sonya and Kirya away and with tears in their eyes they left him as he dragged the four males and himself to their death beneath the avalanche.
Sonya ran and took her daughter to the only place she knew of: the village.

Once back everyone regarded her as if a ghost had come upon them. It had been a year and a half since she ran off and everyone thought she died. But what they didn’t expect was for her to come back with a daughter. She told them nothing of what happened to her in the wild but they could all guess. They scorned her and her daughter, the dogs did at least. The humans were more interested in Kirya who apparently they realized was part wolf and delighted to see that she apparently inherited the Norwegian Lundehund traits.

Sonya’s former owner disowned her and for a long time she was a stray with her young daughter. Kirya had to mature fast and at only a few months of age she was helping her mother hunt for good and find shelter. They were ridiculed by the other dogs and while Sonya was getting worse and worse as she sunk into despair at the death of her Aqil, Kirya remained strong for both her and her mother.

It was a harsh life at first, but an elderly man Gerard Emery decided to adopt Sonya and Kirya since he lost his wife recently and was lonely and felt sympathy for the two females. He took them in and gave them a home. Sonya got better, physically but emotionally she would never be the same. Gerard, not knowing Kirya’s name just called her Scout from then on and she worked hard to return the kindness that the man bestowed on her and her mother.

While Sonya was getting older, she mostly stayed in the house and helped Gerard around since the man was crippled and needed assistance. Kirya though, at only 10 months of age was busy out there hunting, scouting, and doing her duties as a dog to bring food and money back for Gerard. Though Kirya was part wolf, the village was astounded by her young strength and determination and recognized how valuable her abilities were. The humans started planning to see if Gerard would be up to letting Kirya breed when the time came.

The other dogs were wary of Kirya and she tended to be alone as she was more focused on doing her job than anything else. But she had a few friends and perhaps many more enemies. Males would approach her, some to woo some to scorn and she defended herself against them all. She was young but so very much amazing that her mother was very proud and so was Gerard. Kirya bested all the females in skills and even bested the males in hunting and scouting and while she isn’t a fighter, she uses her intelligence and speed to outmatch anyone who dares challenge her.

Now at one year of age, the humans are starting to bother Gerard about letting Kirya breed but out of respect to Sonya and Kirya, Gerard repeatedly rejects the offers no matter how much money was at stake. He loved both of the girls and would never want them to be harmed. Many of the humans tried to get their males to interact with Kirya to see if she would find any one interesting but so far Kirya as rejected all the males. It seems she has inherited her mother’s lust for the wild combined with her father’s blood she was more wolf than dog but she could never bring herself to leave her family behind.

She still remembers her father and misses him greatly just like her mother, but Kirya has grown up and has matured now. The young girl hopes one day to travel outside the village and see the wonders of the wild just like her father always told her about.

The village is actually the same village that Chikara, Blaze, and Flame live. While Kirya knows of Flame's parents from dog gossip floating around, she is really only good friends with Flame. She might have talked to Blaze a few times just to ask him how he feels being a hybrid and how he fits in with the others.

She and Flame are thinking of one day just going out and exploring the wild for a moment.
