Here's just a really quick something to prove I'm not dead or anything. I'm actually away studying for my exams next week, but after I've got them done I'll be back to rping again, I promise.

Anyway, I went to Battle of the Nations last weekend, in Kent. It was a BLAST. There were British peeps, French peeps, German peeps, Dutch peeps - lots of peeps!

And I held a musket. :')

The event was done to raise money for Help for Heroes, and in memorial to a soldier from the village who had recently been killed.

It was a great weekend, and I ended up half-recruited by my local regiment by the end of it. Whenever I walked past a reenactor they'd be all: "oh look! It's that lass who's joining the 32nd!"

I don't have the heart to tell them all my pockets are a little thin for the hobby (considering the license for a musket is £50, and the musket itself an added £200-300, and then the uniform anywhere between £100-300 as well, then there's the added travel expenses etc.)

That, and my parents don't exactly 'approve' of the hobby, in a sense. So, I shall wait until I have finished Uni and am paying my own bills with my own money. Then THERE SHALL BE NO STOPPING ME.

Yes, it was brilliant! I'm hoping I can go back next year. c: It's planned to be bigger and better next year if the event goes forward.

Aaaaand I met Jason Salkey there, who plays Harris from Sharpe. No big deal.

Plenty! Ones with him on his own, and with me with him!

There should be one or two in that album but, failing that, I might post some here too.

The reenactors at the event were hoping Darragh would turn up too, what with it being his birthday that weekend, but no such luck.

Still - Harris! And he gave us a discount for buying stuff on his site. Who can turn down cheap Sharpe stuff, eh?

I'm happy too! I have 4 signed photographs, one of them signed by the guy who played Perkins, too, though he wasn't there.

Hopefully when/if we go back next year Harris will be there again, and maybe Harper. Woop!

I am not there! Unless I'm lurking in the background of some of the pictures. I haven't checked, actually, so I may well be creepin' the creep behind everyone haha.

But here's the folks who tried to recruit me: Tadaa!

The Colonel, 'Welly' Jones, and the private whose name I didn't catch. They were all "if you can join, just ring Tiny our sergeant! It's good fun you know!"

Ahh. If only I could get a job, I'd be doing it, and I'd be dressed in a scarlet jacket in all the photos. c: I'd be perfectly happy to show everyone all of those.
